Nature Kenya Charity Golf Tournament 2022

Nature Kenya, one of Africa’s oldest scientific societies, established in 1909 promotes the study and conservation of nature in Eastern Africa.

Deforestation of Mount Kenya has been the greatest human-induced activity that has threatened Mt. Kenya’s natural ecosystem. The threats to the forest by deforestation have had major consequences on other activities in the mountain area such as wildlife management and the utilization of forest products such as timber. Human practices such as shamba system, livestock rearing, logging, marijuana [bhang] growing, fires and charcoal production, and landslides also affect the forest. The proceeds for this event will be used to mobilize and empower local communities towards forest landscape restoration of Mount Kenya forest hence increasing the forest cover and protection of the entire ecosystem
